Installation guide

In the readme file included in the Crack folder is given.

It should be noted that the MentorGraphics software does not generally work on virtual systems!

Version PADS Pro VX.2.10:

Use MentorKeyGen Tool V1.3.1e.exe crack and readme file beside it.

PADS VX.2.7/2.8 Pro versions:

From the Crack folder, run the MakeLic.bat file to generate the licensefile.dat file
Create a folder called MentorGraphics at the root of drive C and copy the generated licensefile.dat file into it (C:\MentorGraphics)
Run the Environment.reg file
In the Setup folder, run the setup.exe file and click on install Products
During installation, select yes when the message License not found appears
Select Import License, click Next, then browse. In the window that opens, in the lower left corner, change the value of File of Types to License Files (*.dat), navigate to C:\MentorGraphics and select the file licensefile.dat
Click next then done
* If the installation page is not displayed correctly, close the page and run setup.exe again
Follow the installation steps
In the Post-Installation Scripts step, click I want to continue licensing setup and click Next
Select Mobile Compute and MGLS Licensing defaults and click next
Click browse, select License Files (*.dat) in the lower right corner and select the file C:\MentorGraphics\licensefile.dat
Click next and continue
The software is now ready to use

PADSVX.2.2

THIS is for PADSVX.2.2, but works for any VX version of PADS, Standard and Standard Plus
1. Run the installation in the default folder (C:\MentorGraphics)
2. Skip License Installation
3. Modify the installation as follows:
a) Change the target path to the C:\MentorGraphics\PADSVX folder you created earlier
b) Select ALL packages available for installation in the product selection, then deselect the following:
– Check for updates
– Design archive
– Server tools
4. Now start the installation.
5. During installation, you will be prompted to unregister earlier versions of PADS (9.5 and 2005). Click YES for this. You can use the Release Switcher later to revert to either.
6. After the installation is complete, copy MentorKG.exe and run.bat found in the Crack folder to the C:\MentorGraphics\PADSVX folder
From there, run the “run.bat” and wait for it to generate a license file (should open a notebook license.txt
Save this file as PADSVX_LICENSE.TXT in the C:\MentorGraphics\PADSVX folder
7. Now run the PADSVX setup (PADSVX.2.2_mib.exe) again, and this time don’t skip the license installation. Click NEXT to access license setup. Choose the first option (Mobile, Compute, Node Locked License), click NEXT and navigate to the PADSVX_LICENSE.TXT file you saved earlier in the C:\MentorGraphics\PADSVX folder. This will add the PADSVX license to the existing licenses (9.5 and 2005). When prompted to add more licenses, click NO.
8. Everything should be ready to use now. You will find the programs under START\PADSVX2.2. The install doesn’t create shortcuts for them, so you’ll have to do that yourself. Check if PADSVX LAYOUT is working correctly (just to be sure, before doing anything else)
9. At any time, if you wish to revert to a previous version of PADS (9.5 or 2005), use the MGC BSD version selector found under START/Mentor Graphics PCB Admin Utilities.
In the upper list, choose the product you want to deregister (make inactive) and in the lower list, the one you want to register (make active). Click OK and it will take a few minutes to do the job. During the change, you will be asked if you want to configure a license. Choose “I have a valid license. I would like to skip licensing setup”.
Click NEXT and choose the working directory. This is the folder where PADS makes all the default folders (CAM, Reuse,…etc). It doesn’t matter which folder you choose, since you have to configure these folders in PADS/OPTIONS. They are saved in PADS’ ini file, so each time you upgrade to a release, it must use the folders defined in that release’s ini file.
Click FINISH, and once the installer saves a few more files, it should be done. Click FINISH again.
